The grand, open lobby and forecourt at Collins Place, normally bustling with office workers has been somewhat quieter than normal recently with the current COVID-19 restrictions. Meanwhile AMP has recently revealed an entrance to this iconic building with an entirely new look and feel, along with refurbishment of multiple levels of office space & lift lobbies.
PSA founder, Paul Steinfort, was actually the Project Manager for the original building here in 1980. PSA was most recently engaged by AMP in mid-2019 to undertake a programme and weekly monitor of progress on site and to evaluate progress associated with the multiple stages that was critical in maintaining access and operations for the building during the construction period. The provision of the independent report was not only important for understanding progress and identifying issues and risks for delivery, but also for a record of progress in assessing delays.
PSA Project’s Garry Smart and Michael Midgley were able to provide expert advice and independent assessment of the contractor’s time claims using the reports prepared following a logical and well documented process that was well supported and has been robustly tested.
We congratulate AMP on completion of the works in April 2020. The refurbishment works will be sure to impress those returning to their regular offices with refurbished offices, café tenancy space and an updated forecourt providing vastly improved facilities for both current and prospective tenants, in a city brimming with modern commercial spaces.
