Victoria University has been steadily increasing the offerings it presents to the community, with the recent addition of both the Sunshine Skills Hub and the College of Health and Biomedicine facilities at Sunshine Hospital.
For the Sunshine Skills Hub, PSA was engaged in late 2018 to provide an initial assessment of the contractor’s construction programme, as well as regular assessment of contractor progress. The facility provides learning spaces equipped to give students hands-on experience with modern technologies. The building is split into three distinct learning spaces designed to cater to different facets of the community - an innovation space, a health and community services space, and an early childhood and paramedical services space.
At the same time PSA also provided close monitoring and reporting on the Sunshine College of Health and Biomedicine for the two-level fit-out comprising new teaching facilities, offices and mock nursing suites as part of the VU Sunshine Hospital Clinical School. The fitout provides state-of-the-art classroom teaching spaces, teaching laboratories, specialist simulation spaces and self-directed learning spaces.
PSA Project’s Garry Smart and Michael Midgley were able to provide independent review and assessment of both the Skills Hub and College of Biomedicines Contractors’ programmes and progress during construction. PSA congratulates Victoria University on successfully opening the two facilities to provide greater educational services to the community, both ready on time for commencement of Semester 1 classes in 2020.
