PSA Project have been engaged by CIP Constructions to provide independent programme monitoring and reporting on the new headquarters for Nissan on Wellington Rd, Mulgrave. The role sees, David and Lucinda from PSA working with the builder onsite to understand the current issues, risk and measure iframeively the progress leading to the overall completion mid-2020. The 4.67-hectare site was formerly a Peters ice cream facility and has a master plan to transform it into 60,000 square metres of commercial space, a café and retail area along with 2497 car spaces.
Nissan Australia’s new custom-built facility will accommodate the National Headquarters for the business, Nissan Financial Services Australia and the technical trainers of the Victorian state office across five levels of the eight-level building. With its multi-functional requirements, the facility will be offering the latest in technology and work practices for a collaborative work environment across the levels.
The facility is being delivered as an integrated fitout to enable the structure to progress ahead of the fitout brief being designed. This is a common delivery method that demands a careful eye to be kept on the progress of both structure and fitout elements to avoid delays onsite or, worse yet, costly abortive works occurring.
PSA is experienced in this type of project delivery, having fulfilled the role on many other integrated fitouts. The role requires a focus on the design and documentation process to ensure timely design approvals, enough time for procurement and, of course, the seamless merging with the onsite activities.
