Dear Member,

Friday, 21 September, 2001

Welcome to another edition of Paul Steinfort & Associates newsletter. In this edition we have details of a new service being offered in a Project Management Newsgroup, and also a review of one of our latest projects, the City of Casey Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
PSA's New e Project Management Newsgroup

Paul Steinfort & Associates are expanding their e Project Management initiatives by setting up a Project Management Newsgroup to assist project managers of any type in their endeavours.

The purpose of the Newsgroup is to allow project managers to post or respond to questions, comments and opinions about personal or current project management issues and events. This will facilitate peer-to-peer discussions and advice, and the discussion of "Your Project Path".

Paul Steinfort & Associates will be adding their experience in project management by monitoring the newsgroup and providing expert opinions on the questions posted when appropriate. PSA will also from time to time make announcements.

The philosophy of newsgroups is that if you help people, they will help you, and that you will also learn from other people's problems and experiences.

To access the newsgroup, click on news://forums.psaproject.com.au/epm. You will need a newsreader to participate in the newsgroup. For information about newsreaders and tips on setting up the newsgroup, please click here.

City of Casey Aquatic & Recreation Centre
Official Opening Sunday 23rd September 2001

Paul Steinfort riding the wave of success at City of Casey ARC.

The $17.4 million Casey ARC (Aquatic and Recreation Centre) is the City of Casey's largest and most exciting capital works project ever undertaken.

To be managed by the YMCA, it is a state-of-the-art leisure facility offering a diverse range of aquatic and recreation opportunities for Victoria's fastest growing municipality. The centre is located at Princes Highway, Narre Warren - alongside the City of Casey Council offices and the Fountain Gate Shopping Centre. It has been built by Fletcher Construction Australia Limited and designed by architects Cox Sanderson Ness.

Project manager Paul Steinfort & Associates was firstly engaged by City of Casey at the feasibility stage of the project. They have continued to provide project management for the whole project including
  • project brief development
  • consultant selection
  • design and documentation
  • construction
  • commissioning

A Positive Contract incorporating Novation of the Design Consultants was used to deliver the project so as to meet the sports, community and revenue generation objectives of the Council. The project was successfully delivered on time and under budget and to the total satisfaction of the City of Casey.
